Michigan has also taken steps to legalize online gambling, offering sports betting as well as nine licensed and regulated casino websites with various games. Michigan sportsbooks have seen impressive profits after only months!
Other states to have legalized online casino and poker gaming include Connecticut, Kentucky and West Virginia – although West Virginia has yet to launch its own iGaming sites; instead partnering with DraftKings and FanDuel instead to operate two casinos within its borders.
The rest of the world varies significantly when it comes to iGaming regulations. Some countries such as Mexico, Argentina and Brazil have legalized online gambling while others do not; Mexico’s Ministry of the Interior oversees and regulates such activities while provincial governments in Argentina and Brazil oversee and regulate online gambling sites respectively. Other nations, like Germany and France for example, impose strict rules regarding their operations with license requirements and payments of taxes to local governments for operators licenses; other nations allow their citizens access from anywhere around the globe whereas Germany and France require operators licenses for operation of online gambling sites while most other parts of the world allow their citizens access from any location worldwide whereas Germany requires licenses while paying taxes to their local government while others allow access anywhere around the globe whereas German and France require operators licenses with valid licenses from local governments for regulation.
